At the end of our last ride we finished at Cycle PS Battersea and enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to dedicate an entire ride to South London. Starting at Cycle PS Camberwell and ending at Cycle PS Battersea with a special break half way to enjoy some beer and a burger.
Leaving at 7:30 we turned right onto Peckham Rd and then left onto Denmark Hill, up and over and down along Green Dale and across towards Dulwich Village. We continued on from there towards West Norwood passing Norwood Cemetery cruising all the way up to Gipsy Rd where we hung a left, keeping up speed to enjoy the big hills. Approaching Gipsy Hill we turned right and hammered our way up it stopping early for our secret halfway house Beer Rebellion!
Bikes safely locked and the smell of beer and burgers beckoning we slipped inside and placed our orders. Beer Rebellion is one of our favourite new places to visit in South London with bars located on Gipsy Hill Road, Sydenham and in Queens Road Peckham.
Full and suitably watered we hit the road again sailing down hill from Gipsy Hill all the way through to Brixton via Croxted Road, Dulwich Rd and Brixton Water Lane. From here we zipped up Brixton Hill road to see the Brixton Windmill and then over to Clapham Common arriving via Narbonne Ave and exiting onto Ceders Rd before a sharp left onto Ashley Crest which took us onto the beautiful Elsley Road.
We completed the ride with a quick turn onto a cycle path just after Sheepcote Lane which took us under two beautiful railway arches and out onto Cabul Rd and across to Cycle PS Battersea.
Waiting for us was a fridge full of beer, beautiful bikes to gawp at and a quick game organised by Ian and Cycle PS Battersea crew.
